Vibo Valentia

The city was built on a high hill where you can see a magnificent view of the countryside that stretches along the Gulf of St. Eufemia until the Gulf of Gioia. The best place you can visit is the Norman-Swabian-Angevin castle which since 1994 has been an archeological museum. It contains many Archeological objects, among which the most important piece: the Orphic metal foil. You should also visit the Cathedral of St. Leoluca: inside many artworks enrich the church among which the Triptych of Antonello Gagini. Still visible 700 m. of Greek walls and ruins of the temple devoted to the goddess Persephone. You can see also many other churches and palaces that can call your attention.
